Pink Party

We go from Julia’s Blue Skies in sunny Mexico (yesterday’s post) to a Pink Party in snowy B.C.

We were celebrating the arrival of a highly anticipated baby girl!  I had way too much fun making tissue flowers and banners with lace!

She arrived at the party escorted by her doting dad.

And was immediately snatched up by her ‘godmother’ whom she obviously adores! (The feeling is obviously mutual!)

And since it was a party, I had an excuse to go a little crazy and try some new crazy recipes that the new mom had posted on her Pinterest board.  Like these Cucumber Feta Rolls…

and the Blueberry Cinnamon Rolls (which I did in individual muffin cups instead of the traditional pan, easier to serve)…

And then I also had to try at least one of Martha Stewart’s baby shower appies, so I thought I would try something really crazy sounding like these Bacon Wrapped Dates  that have pistachios and apricot in them!  But the craziest part was that my hubby actually prepared them (how crazy awesome is that?!) must be the lure of the bacon…

and since it was a snowy evening outside, I wanted to bring some flavoring reminders of summer into the evening with my Tomato Bocconcini Basil treats.  Just skewer a basil leaf, half of a bocconcini ball, a grape tomato onto a toothpick and then drizzle with Julia’s best ever Basil Dressing…

Throw in a classic Knorr Spinach Dip for the hipster dipster crowd…

And we are so thankful for the internet that gives us limitless ideas to steal from like Baby Buggy fruit baskets (but keep in mind the one on the internet was way more Type A, I kept my version simple and somewhat suitable to my phlegmatic tendencies)…

And since there has to be chocolate, my oldest daughter made these chocolate covered strawberries…

But there is one thing that I just cannot make…good thing that the ‘godmother’ also happens to be a cake boss!  She made this ‘quilt’ complete with fringe!  Luuuuuuuv it…

After yapping, laughing, eating, unwrapping presents and eating cake, Baby Nola was exhausted and proceeded to fall fast asleep…Could she be anymore adorable?!!!!

A ray of sunshine on a cold wintry night!  Welcome to the world Baby Nola!
